Interesting places in the vicinity of Tbilisi

Tbilisi is surrounded by interesting and attractive places to visit. 

Saguramo is a village in the eastern part of Georgia. Saguramo is distinguished by its beautiful nature and green atmosphere. Saguramo was the place where one of the most important Georgian public figures and writers Ilia Chavchavadze lived. His house is now a museum. The museum preserves his personal, family and professional belongings and it is worth visiting while you are touring in Georgia. Apart from the museum,  people can visit the “Guramishvili wine cellar”. The cellar provides wines made through different technology and also provides master classes in cooking Georgian dishes.

Zedazeni – is a mountain in Mtskheta-Mtianeti (the eastern part of Georgia), near the town of Mtskheta. The mountain is covered with trees, especially beeches. One of the most striking places near the mountain is the Zedazeni Monastery. The monastery was established in the 6th century by Assyrian Monks who contributed immensely to the spreading of Christianity throughout Georgia. The forest on the mountain offers visitors a newly opened park and picnic zone. The beautiful environment and the proximity to Tbilisi, the capital makes the park a good choice for a relaxing venue.

Tbilisi Sea is an artificial lake in the vicinity of Tbilisi. It provides outdoor and indoor pools and aqua-parks. On a hot summer’s day of this is an ideal place to visit. Visitors can bathe either in the lake or in the private pools. It is one of the best places in summer for organizing picnics, sunbathing or just for chilling out.

Sioni Lake is located in the eastern part of Georgia. It is an artificially created water reservoir. Sioni itself is a resort town surrounded by mountains and forests. It is one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers in Georgia. 

Near Sioni, Sabaduri’s magical forest awaits visitors. The forest is among top 20 beautiful forests in the world. It is especially stunning covered in snow during the winter time. The park inside the forest is a nice place for picnic lovers. Fresh air and the beauty of the venue will make any visitor fall in love with the place.
