Jvari Monastery

According to history, the construction of the cross at the Jvari Monastery symbolized the rise of Christianity in Georgia.This architecture dates back to 585-604 cc AD. Based on a Georgian tradition in the early 4th century Saint Nino constructed a wooden cross on Mtskheta’s highest hill. The church  was built on the top of a cliff where the two rivers meet Mtkvari and Aragvi. Jvari Monastery is a perfect place for you if you enjoy historical architecture and have no fear of heights. Jvari Monastery is built on a top of a hill and it overlooks Mtskheta, old capital of Georgia.

Paliashvili Opera House

For those who love Opera this is just the right place for you. Paliashvili Opera House dates back to more than 165 years. It is located in the center of the city at 25 Rustaveli Ave. It provides fascinating performances which are mostly in Georgian language, however, you can find some in English as well. Gveleti Waterfall

If you’re looking for a way to spend a sunny summer day, the Gveleti Waterfall is what you’re searching for. The waterfall is located in the village of Gveleti, near the town of Stepantsminda. To get there you need to hike which takes up to 15 minutes and it isn’t that difficult, it’s a short hike for a beautiful waterfall. A perfect place for a picnic on a summer day!

Georgian National Museum

Historical Georgian National Museum is located at 3 Shota Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. It is known to be the largest museum in the country with the unification of ten different museums, national gallery, four house museums and two research centers all in one system. The museum presents internationally significant collections of art and dynamics, exhibitions displaying Georgia’s medieval history. 

Batumi Dolphinarium

Batumi Dolphinarium first opened in 1975 and later got re-opened in 2011 it provides shows to up to 700 audience members as well as offers visitors the opportunity of trying their hand as dolphin trainers. It is the perfect place for family with programs such as swimming with the dolphins. The shows are performed in Georgian, English and Russian.

Batumi Boulevard

A perfect place to take a walk around and ride a bike: Batumi Boulevard has an astonishing view, especially during sunset with an open beach right around the corner. It is a must see place with a lot of restaurants. The Batumi Dolphinarium is located just a short walking distance from the Batumi Boulevard. Nice and relaxing place to go to with family and kids.

Stalin Museum

The Stalin Museum is located at 32 Stalin Avenue in Gori, Georgia. The museum consists of a memorial house where Stalin was born and raised. The museum also keeps Stalin’s personal belongings, such as his private study room brought from Kremlin, manuscripts, gifts and a lot more.

Uplistsiche Cave Town

This place is an “ancient rock-hewn town that witnessed the key events of the history of Georgia”. Located in the eastern part of Georgia “Uplistsiche” which means Lord’s Fortress is a fascinating tourist destination that was founded in the late Bronze Agearound 1000 BC. The caves cover a slope and the top of a sandstone massif at the edge of the Mtkvari river. This is a must see sight during your trip to Georgia. 

Amusement Park Tsitsinatela

The perfect place for children and adults of all ages: Amusement park Tsitsinatela is located in Guria, in Ozurgeti municipality, Shekvetili near seaside town of Ureki and Kobuleti. It was opened in 2006. Around 300 thousand people visit Tsitsinatela during summer season, the majority of them are children. There are about 36 total rides, with 17 of them that are family friendly and 11 extreme. The place also has a pizzeria, a coffee house, a bar and several shopping booths. For those with an extreme side will definitely enjoy the amusement park. 

Open Air Museum of Ethnography

This fascinating place was founded in 1966 by a famous Georgian ethnographer Giorgi Chitaia. It is located in the Vake district of Tbilisi near the Turtle Lake. According to its official website Open Air Museum of Ethnography occupies 52 hectares of land and houses more than eight thousand artifacts brought from all over Georgia such as Imereti, Kartli, Adjara, Abkhazia, Khevsureti, Kakheti, Meskheti, Javakheti, Svaneti, Guria, Racha, Samegrelo, Lechkhumi and Ossetia. Visitors are free to explore on their own, or they can enjoy guided tours around the museum.
