Batumi
Batumi is the main Black Sea resort and tourist center of Georgia, located in Adjara. The city is famous for its contrast of old and new architecture, skyscrapers, magnificent subtropical nature and interesting attractions. Batumi beach stretches around the perimeter of the city and extends for 7 kilometers. Many gardens and streets here are planted with magnificent exotic plants (palm trees, bamboo, eucalyptus, and magnolia). Batumi is also a center of the cultivation of tea and citrus plants. The climate is marine, soft and very moist. Summer is very warm and sunny, sometimes very hot with an average temperature +25/29 C. This is the perfect place for spending holidays.
Among the attractions, the most famous is the Maritime Boulevard, built in 1881. Now it extends for 7 km and offers many cozy corners and interesting entertainment for an enjoyable vacation and holidays. In the northern part of the city, there is the famous Batumi Botanical Garden with its rich collection of subtropical and tropical plants. From the historic sites the city is known for the ancient Roman fortress “Gonio”, which once belonged to Rome, and then to the Byzantine Empire.
