Kelitsadi Lake

Truso Valley is a breathtaking place with mineral water springs and stone towers from the middle ages. From the Truso Valley, you can climb to Khorisari a volcanic plateau. The plateau is a flat field suitable for camping.

If you are lucky and the weather is peaceful, you can even attempt a climb of the mountain’s peak at 3756 meters.
The peak overlooks Kelitsadi Lake, Gudari (a ski resort in Georgia), Mkinvartsveri (Mount Kazbek) and a lot of attractive places. After a 2 –hour hike from the passage, you will find Kelitsadi Lake itself. It often happens that tourists get lost up here usually due to low cloud or fog. So using GPS is recommended as well as taking any sensible measures in case this happens, for example wearing suitable clothing and footwear.
The lake is located at 3081metres above sea level. It can only be reached by hiking. That’s why the location is one of the most intact and well-preserved natural places in Georgia. There is quite a comfortable camping area around the lake. However for about 9 months of the year the surrounding area is covered in snow.
